Vendor Guidelines

The behaviour we expect from every vendor listed on Set My Event, so clients can trust what they find here.

Be honest about pricing

Your listed starting price should reflect what a real client could actually expect to pay for your baseline offering. Bait pricing — a low listed price designed to get enquiries, followed by a materially different quote — is grounds for listing suspension.

Respond in good faith

Reply to genuine enquiries honestly, even if you're not available or interested — a quick "not available on that date" is far better for everyone than silence. Repeated non-response to enquiries affects your visibility in search results.

Only post your own, accurate work

Photos and videos on your listing should be real work you've actually delivered, not stock images or another business's portfolio. See our Listing Guidelines for the specifics.

Honour what you list

If your listing says you serve a city or offer a service, be prepared to actually deliver it if a client books. Consistently declining bookings that match your own listed services and areas erodes trust in the whole platform.

No harassment, no spam

Treat every client with respect, even ones you don't end up working with. Don't use client contact details obtained through the platform for unrelated marketing or spam.

What happens if guidelines are broken

Depending on severity: a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the platform. See our Vendor Terms & Conditions for how this interacts with paid plan refunds. Clients can flag a concern any time through Report a Vendor.
